EXPERT BIAS: THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING

For five years, I led peer groups for CEOs, business owners, and other leaders. I love the peer groups, because they normalize a lot of the challenges that leaders face, which makes leading less lonely.

Last year, I thought, "I really want to level up my groups. I should look for an expert to help me do that," and so I did. I found the largest peer group company in the world. I vetted them. They vetted me. It was a match made in heaven, and we began to work together.

And, then I realized after five years of leading groups, and 25 years of working with leaders, I didn't need an expert, because I was one. And, we very civilly, respectfully, and graciously parted ways. I wish them all the best.

Not recognizing my own expert status is something that has followed me throughout my life like an unwelcome specter, and maybe it has for some of you, too. So, this is a reminder to recognize that you know things.

If you'd like to chat about joining a peer group, it turns out I know what I'm doing. Schedule a quick call or meeting here.
